Synopsis
Marimar is a naive girl from the island. She met Sergio Santibanez and marry him. In Villa Santibanez, she was tortured by Angelika , Sergio's step-mother and also his girlfriend in past. Marimar was chased from the house when Sergio went to Japan for a bussiness trip. Marimar stayed in Innocencia's house and gave birth to Segio's Child named Cruzita.  Marimar then met his biological father, Gustavo Aldama but his father died right after he had handed up all his wealth to marimar. With help from Esperanza, his father's cousin and Innocencia , Marimar went to US and transform from naive and poor to sophisticated and rich Bella Aldama. When she returned from US , she was totally ready to take revenge on Angelica with help from Sergio and his father, Renato. Things become complicated when they found out that Marimar (now known as Bella) and Angelica was siblings with the same father. without they know, Angelica was actually planning to take over Aldama's wealth from Marimar. Angelica was responsible in the murder of her biological mother , Vanessa Mae and Esperanza , yet she blackmailed Marimar on Esperanza's death because she has a knife with Marimar's fingerprint on it. After Angelika's plan to kill Marimar failed , she sets another trap for Marimar. After a series of police investigation , Angelika is found out to involved in a shoot out and subsequently arrested. In this accident , Marimar was run over and badly wounded. In the jail, Angelika's foster father went to visit her and set a plan to escape from the prison. On the wedding of Sergio and Marimar , Angelika kidnaped Sergio and Cruzita . She then called Marimar on her cellphones and asked Marimar to choose between Sergio and Cruzita's life . Marimar ride on the third boat and decides to save Cruzita. Once she hugs her daughter , the boat with Sergio in it explodes. Marimar take Cruzita to the shore and she asked Cruzita to be strong even without her father. Actually, Sergio didn't die in the explosion at all . He managed to escaped and fighting with Angelika's henchmen . Marimar and Angelika is fighting in Angelika's helicopter off to ground. Sergio managed to grabbed the chopper before it comletely lifts off . Marimar pushes Angelika into a river full of crocodile. Sergio climbs into the helicopter and he and Marimar reunited. After much heartbreak and sorrow, tears and hardship and the death of Angelika , the two lovers are finally married.
